TLDR: Nicely made unit that I ended up giving to my partner to use for her real estate quickie videos/ live tours as she found dealing with a powered iPhone gimbal too much work. Pros: Build quality > excellent Fit and finish > excellent Completeness of kit > excellent Lots of mounting points for adding bits of kit to the frame Packing and shipping > excellent Cons: The grips that are used are too small in diameter to be comfortable over long periods. They have a smooth, plasticky, slightly slippery feel The grips are positioned vertically at 90 degrees from the base and top – this straight up angle is fatiguing to hold for long periods. It makes you hold your hands with the wrists in an unnatural position, it would be better if the grips had a forward lean to them, so you gripped with your hands at an angle to your wrists, as you do when you grip a steering wheel in a car. The iPhone holder that is supplied is a very high quality one, with excellent build quality, but it can only hold phones that are either uncased or have cases on the thinner side. I swapped the included one with another I have that has sufficient gripping depth to allow for my iPhone XSMax, enclosed in the Apple external battery case, to be mounted securely. Things the make you go hmmmm: The swing out arm that supports the iPhone moves the phone lens leftwards from the tripod mount nodal point on the frame, the more it extends. It may just be the unit that I got, but I could not adjust the tension on the swing out arm with the included hex wrench, The swing out arm cannot be swung back flat into the frame for storage or travel safety once the iPhone holder is attached since the mounting ¼ 20 screw handle protrudes from the bottom of the arm. Unless you want to unmount the phone holder each time, which will slow you down for run and gun. Because the arm is swung forward from the frame for operation, if you are holding the rig lower than your head, the upper plate of the frame blocks the view of the phone screen.
Great for steady shots and adding lighting! Thanks Sandmarc!
Very robust and versatile rig. High quality. The camera / smartphone arm is a bit loose when iPhone 11 Pro I mounted, but could be easily kept in place with one of screws.
I'm looking for something to hole multiple cameras and multiple lights. This one is too small, but at least it's lightweight. I want something with at least three levels and a little wider, for at least three cameras on top of each other and two lights.
